NASA OSTEM`s Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) for STEM Engagement of American Indians and Alaska Natives CONNECTing Indigenous Culture and Science Through Co-design of STEM Ecosystems (MAIANSECONNECT) is soliciting proposals from tribal colleges and universities (TCU), native American non-tribal institutions (NASNTI), and Native/Hawaiian Alaskas serving ESNAs, as identified by the U.S. Department of Education. Develop STEM ecosystems by creating jointly designed STEM engagement activities with a focus on nesting NASA`s unique assets with community needs and partnerships. MAIANSECONNECT is looking for proposals that include curriculum development, research activities and student engagement with the overall goal of expanding STEM participation. The Next OPPORTUNITY IN STEM Fund strengthens STEM learning by making efforts to strengthen STEM knowledge, systems and capacity. Strategic investments are designed to help education leaders, policymakers and funders understand how to effectively build the field of stem learning. Appendix J: MAIANSECONNECTing Indigenous Culture and Science through Co-design of STEM Ecosystems (MAIANSECONNECT) Tier 1 awards are funded up to a maximum of $75,000 per year for a two (2) year performance period. This level of scholarship includes STEM engagement activities (see link above in Appendix J, Section J.2.1).

The Million Girls Moonshot seeks to inspire and prepare the next generation of innovators by enrolling an additional one million girls in STEM learning opportunities over the next 5 years through after-school and summer programs. The Moonshot is active in after-school programs in all 50 states, leveraging the Mott-funded 50 State Afterschool network, which has access to more than 10 million teens and 100,000 after-school programs across the country. STEM gems are short discovery-based experiments that involve little material and can be easily implemented by educators who are not STEM specialists. After-School Science PLUS is a research-based science program for use in after-school centers for students ages 6 to 14. The program`s activity guide consists of 11 core activities focused on physics and literacy through science, using simple, inexpensive or free materials that are readily available and culturally relevant. Mizzen by Mott inspires, engages and stimulates learning among young people.

With activities from leading organizations like Jazz at Lincoln Center and powerful management tools, this new app can help you strengthen your after-school program. Mizzen is supported by the Mott Foundation and is available free of charge to professionals after school. Level 2 scholarships are funded between $200 and $250,000 per year for a minimum performance period of three (3) years, with the option to extend the benefit for up to five (5) years (subject to program approval and available funding).
